Cookie Policy

Our approach
RevealYour uses a small number of cookies and browser storage entries. We do not use advertising cookies, social media tracking pixels, or retargeting cookies. Below is a full list of everything we set and why.
Session cookie (anonymous users)
Name: ry_free. Type: httpOnly cookie. Purpose: tracks whether an anonymous (not signed in) user has used their free scan session. This is set on the server and cannot be read by JavaScript. It expires after one year. It is strictly functional and does not track you across other sites.
Authentication cookies (signed-in users)
When you sign in to a RevealYour account, Clerk (our authentication provider) sets session cookies to keep you logged in. These cookies are strictly necessary for the authenticated features of the service to work. They expire when you sign out or after an inactivity period defined by Clerk.
Language preference (local storage)
Name: ry_lang. Type: browser localStorage. Purpose: remembers whether you prefer English or Spanish results. This is stored locally on your device and is never transmitted to our servers independently. It persists until you clear your browser storage.
Analytics cookies (Google Analytics)
We use Google Analytics to understand how people use RevealYour. Google Analytics sets cookies (typically named _ga, _gid, and related) to distinguish users and track sessions. The data collected is anonymized and aggregated. We do not use this data to identify individual users. Google Analytics does not receive the text you submit for analysis or your scan results. You can opt out at any time using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on (tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout) or a browser extension that blocks analytics scripts.
What we do not use
We do not use Facebook Pixel, LinkedIn Insight Tag, or any other advertising network trackers. We do not use cookies for retargeting or cross-site behavioral advertising. We do not sell cookie data to any third party.
Managing cookies
You can clear cookies and localStorage at any time through your browser settings. Clearing the Clerk session cookie will sign you out of your account. Clearing localStorage will reset your language preference to the default. Blocking analytics cookies will prevent Google Analytics from tracking your session but will not affect the core functionality of RevealYour.
